Lucille's and Vardon's

In 1997 we moved to a little town in South Eastern Utah called Elmo. It had a population of 285 people. My sister lived in the town and my husband worked out of town every other week. I met and became friends with the next door neighbors Lucille and Vardon Willson. They were in their 60's they had a farm and cows in a couple locations in addition to the job of tracking and scheduling the irrigation for the county farmers. Lucille was home most of the time and was always happy to have company. Young and old would visit her and she would always offer food or treats. Lucille made wedding cakes, baby blessing outfits and sewed and crafted many items. She loved to talk about anything and everything. Varden would come and go and visit as he wanted. He was also welcoming. Varden passed away on their 51 wedding ananversary in 2002. Lucille missed him terribley and was never quite the same after. Last year Lucille fell and broke her leg and never quite recovered from an addition complications. She suffered through more than a year. Last week I recieved notice that Lucille was not doing well and then a few days later she passed away. We went to the funeral and said goodbye. It was so very hard for me because I grew to love her so very very much for all so gave me in love and support. I will truely miss her.
