Relief Society Enrichment Night was Tuesday. This is my new church job and in a funny way is my oldest. My mom was the Enrichment Leader for most of my childhood. She loved it..I love it!
It's a night when women can get together and learn a new skill or share the skills they have. It can be anything from crafts to gardening to cooking. This months theme was Quick tips and Fast Tricks for Emergency preparedness. It was fun to split the ladies into 3 groups and see who could make a temporary shelter and start a fire with a spark and boil water in a can. It was interesting. The shelters were simple but the fire starting without a match or lighter and waiting for the water to boil was a bit of a job. Then we listened to a few cute ladies while they shared some ideas about starting fires, making shelters, 72 hour kits and light and cooking options. It was pretty cool. We finished with a tasters table of emergency foods such as the MRE army meals and some hiking dehydrated food types. It was amazing how good everything really taste. Emergency Foods have come a long long way.
