Saying Goodbye to a Very Dear Friend

Poko is my very favorite horse. He was first brought to me by my brother Brad. He was very literally a horse trade. I wondered what my brother could be thinking bringing this tall skinny bag of bones to my house. Brad assured me that with some TLC and some good feed he would be a great horse for the kids. This horse truly became my hero. He could be trusted with any child. If the child didn't know how to make him turn Poko would just walk until he had to turn. He could go through any terrain. The mountains were his element he would walk up over or through anything you asked him to. He also was a great Rodeo horse. My boys loved to compete with him in 4H. He could giddy up and go when asked. We have known for a couple of years now that he was getting too old. He didn't run well or long. His walking was even slow and labored. It was a long and agonizing decision but, I finally came to the conclusion it was time to say goodbye to one of my best friends.
